Two Of The Most Important Ongoing SEO Factors

1st March 2019 | Harry Hawkins | Marketing

There’s many important factors in SEO. From User Experience, User Behaviour, the business listing, the user themselves (such as their search history, location, device), website’s on-page content, Meta Data; and much much more!

Amongst all of these things there are two huge factors which stand out the most.

Content

All web pages are graded on their own individual merits. This means that if a website has generally thin content on its pages, but one page with really good and lengthy content that is deemed useful to the user, then that page will still have a good chance of ranking. Although, the same can’t be said for the other pages!

In order to rank certain pages you’ll want to ensure that the pages have a good length of easy to read content on them and are subject focused around the keyword(s) that you want the page to rank for. In dental terms, this means on your teeth whitening page you’ll want a good amount of information about teeth whitening. This will then enable that page to rank for the Teeth Whitening search terms. Each treatment should have its own page so that it’s able to rank for its corresponding search terms.

Once you’ve made a bunch of treatment pages that are all ranking well, then I’d advise blogging targeting long-tail keywords. This shows Google that you’re regularly updating your website. Keeping fresh content present.

Link Building

The second huge SEO factor is link building. Google ranks sites with the assumption that high quality sites link to high quality sites. In fact Google believes this philosophy so adamantly that they place a huge amount of weight on these links. There’s numerous ways to build links back to websites and there are some methods that you must be extra careful using. Google doesn’t like it when you send random, low quality and spammy links back to a website, they want to see high quality and genuine links in order for the links to positively effect your positions on Google. To obtain these links you’ll find that a lot of time, effort and patience is needed which is why this is an outgoing process.
